UKRAPP; Definitely Satire!

with 4 comments

I want to start my own political party, the United Kingdom Red and Proud Party; here’s my logo-

UKRAPP

The £SD, of course stands for Pounds, Shillings and Pence- not the other thing.

Anybody interested, send me as much as you can afford and I’ll send you a nice sheet of blotting paper- or maybe a sugar cube.

The Fight For Hearts and Souls part II

with 7 comments

looking at the sun

I had a few words with a Sun reader in the pub Saturday afternoon; well, to be honest, I don’t know he was a Sun reader, but all his comments lead me to believe him to be so; I say comments because that’s all he did- made statements with no evidence to back them up while I argued evidentially, to which I got the repeated question “Who?”, “What?” and “When?”

For example, when I said things need to change and proposed there were mumblings among the populace to the effect that change may be on the horizon and not necessarily peaceful, he said it would never happen, people won’t stand up to be counted and the government know this. When I said that is exactly what Tsar Nikolai thought in 1917 he said “Who?”

When he claimed his English heritage and blamed the country’s ills on foreigners I argued he wasn’t English, he was Italian, German and French to quote but three invaders of Britain that pushed the English into Wales, he said “What?” when I said the Norman conquest of 1066 to say the least he said “When?”

The essence of his argument was I am English and if we kick out the foreigners, all will be well. When I asked him to describe ‘English’ he couldn’t, beyond ‘well, I’m English’. When I introduced the above argument, he attempted to ridicule it; when I asked him where we would draw the line of who was English and who was not, he was lost, except to repeat, well I’m English despite my arguments to the contrary.

This is what we’re up against, ignorance propagated by the popular media. Ignorance that will not argue its case, merely repeat their ‘evidence’; ignorance that will not hear reasoned argument and will not hear the evidence that contradicts their arguments.

I could have continued the argument, effectively to a reasonable person, but because he was becoming offensive and I was getting angry, I chose to take my custom elsewhere rather than smack the twat in the gob!

Now, over the road in another pub are several young people I have got to know over the weeks; young people who really do listen to what I have to say, are of, if not the same, a similar opinion; very refreshing.

There is hope and the fight for hearts and souls is not lost. I am glad I left the old fart over the way to his ignorance, where I am sure he denigrated me, my arguments and my opinion to anybody who would listen, probably with plenty of Sun quotes.

I am a Communist, a Marxist.

I am a Communist, a Marxist.

You can read all the literature you wish to in your quest for ‘communism’ but ultimately, you will know in your heart whether you are really a Communist.

Communism is an ideal, rather than a political, social or economic strategy.

I know in my heart and I believe, most sincerely in the redistribution of the wealth for the good of the people; I know in my heart there should be no reason for communism or the redistribution of wealth, for without the greed of individualism as an enemy to the common good, we would all be wealthy, as wealthy as our communal prosperity allows.

Communism has had, currently has and will continue to have a bad press, for the capitalists hate communism; they hate it because it takes their wealth, power and privilege and gives it back to the disenfranchised, the poor and the hungry; the very people who create the wealth, through their hard labour, their blood, sweat and tears.

You will be told, by the capitalists about the fall of communism. They will tell you how the Stalinist USSR fell; they will point out the bad things in Cuba and China.

They will not tell you Stalin was not a socialist, much less a communist. They will not tell you how the capitalist West conspired with him to create a divided Germany.

An isolated communist society cannot survive in a global capitalist regime; an isolated socialist agenda cannot prosper in a global capitalist world.

I can only say there are far more poor people in this world than rich; we have the power, if we have the will.

Dennis Skinner: ‘The Beast’ Shows Softer Side

with 14 comments

This impassioned speech genuinely brought tears to my eyes. Such a heartfelt plea is rarely heard from today’s career politicians, whose focus is spin and deceit.

You will note how Cameron turned away from Dennis as he attempted to defend ATOS and his, his ministers and his party’s atrocious treatment of the sick, disabled and needy.

Despite the headline “Dennis Skinner: ‘The Beast’ Shows Softer Side” and despite Dennis’s reputation for his ‘no prisoners’ stance, this is a man of great compassion; of great feeling and of great caring. He knows liberalist socialism will not defeat the real beast of capitalism and greed. He knows that only a strong and wilful- and yes, sometimes aggressive opposition, not just in parliament but also to capitalism in general is the only way we will bring about a fairer and more equitable society. He know that in the fight for justice, as in any fight there will be casualties. He knows we must minimise the casualties, but the fight must go on.

But while we quite rightly laud Dennis, we must not fail by using this speech to merely advance our socialist agenda; we must not forget the poor man whose last year of life was not only ravaged by his medical condition, but then this burden was exacerbated by the ‘medical’ assessment that stripped him of the little help he deserved- and paid for throughout his working life. We must neither forget his poor widow, who lived this imposition with him and is now left alone to wonder why.

He is the last of the crusaders; the last of a line of great socialist politicians. I can only hope he instils in some young prospective politicians the will to continue the fight.

Turncoat Tory’s blue-sky talk can’t hide the damning truth

Comment:

If benefits are higher than wages, then the fault lies with wages and the employer that pays them, not the level of benefits.

While I do not agree that benefit levels are or have ever been higher than wages, even if that were so, benefits being calculated as the minimum you need to live on, then my statement above holds true. Either way, as far as I am concerned, Freud and the Tories have lost the argument.
End comment.

Here’s another Tory who should go boil his head: David Freud.

This former Labour advisor on social security – who had previously worked in the city, setting up company share flotations (and if that isn’t a deeply worrying connection, what is?) – crossed the floor to the Conservative Party when he realised Labour wasn’t going to keep power in 2010, and was rewarded with an utterly undeserved peerage.

The Big Flaw in Capitalism- and why they won’t tell you.

with 28 comments

After 200 years plus of capitalism, I am surprised the ordinary worker doesn’t see it; I am surprised that capitalism lasted more than 50 years. See what; why this broad statement? Easy; capitalism doesn’t work. Here’s the reason.

Picture reproduced under Creative Commons licence

As we all know, no matter how hard politicians try to reign in capitalism, however hard they try to control it or, on the other side how hard they try to allow it to do as it pleases, capitalism inevitably results in boom and bust.

Whatever the capitalists tell you, the people who suffer most during the ‘bust’ periods are the poor, the employee and the disenfranchised. The people who suffer least are the speculators, factory owners and entrepreneurs who have amassed great wealth by underpaying the proletariat for their labour and overcharging that same proletariat for goods and services.

Conversely, during the ‘boom’ years the people who benefit most are the same speculators, factory owners and entrepreneurs while those that benefit least are the same poor, employee and disenfranchised.

This is why capitalists must underpay for labour and overcharge for goods and services. Because they know the good times won’t last forever and they need to amass their personal fortunes at your expense to survive them in the luxury to which they have become accustomed. Meanwhile, the proletariat can struggle on in the filth they so love.

The wealthy capitalist knows and understands all this. They do not want you to know, much less understand it. (Which is why they so love to tinker with your state education system, while their public school system has stood the test of time and barely changed since its inception.)

Capitalism continues as the worlds favoured economic policy because these same capitalists have convinced the proletariat that through capitalism, you can have the same slice of the cake if you work hard enough.

Tell that to the cleaning lady, the road sweeper and the shoe-shine boy, and try to do it without a wry grin.

Here’s what I want…

with 4 comments

workers unite karl marx

Here’s what I want; here is my utopia; I want the British people to wake up; I want the British people to revolt- peacefully, if possible, but if pushed then I want the British people to take up arms; rakes, forks and spades if necessary and storm the bastions of power. I want the British people to wake to the incredibly unjust society in which we live; I want the British people to see that the ‘cultural change’ the Tories speak of is nothing less than plutocratic dictatorship.

I WANT A MARXIST REVOLUTION!

It isn’t gonna happen anytime soon. Too many believe that our ‘democracy’ works; too many don’t care; too many do not believe that the only alternative is a socialist revolution; too many believe that socialism is evil— too many watch the X-Factor, Jeremy Kyle and Big Brother.

But democratic socialism means no banker can usurp somebody else’s wealth to his- or her- own ends; no fascist, capitalist or otherwise anti-proletariat individual or group can usurp power from the people; the power- and the wealth produced from your blood, sweat and tears- will be distributed equitably according to your needs, while you quite rightly contribute according to your ability.

If that doesn’t sound right, then you want more than you are entitled to; you are a capitalist. If you don’t like the name, stop liking the method.
