NHS in Crisis

“…and say they would prefer an insurance-based system.”; don’t they realise we are already IN an insurance based system, the NHS. The problem is, those taking care of the premiums (general taxation and national insurance contributions), our government, are deliberately misusing those funds to “…make sure things don’t work, … [then] hand it over to private capital.” (Noam Chomsky).

Do they further realise that such a system would see private insurance companies profiteering from the system, then refusing to pay for treatment when your insurance runs out, unlike our health service which is based on need, not ability to pay.

But the aim of the government isn’t just to bring this about- it is to convince us that WE want it. Fait accompli.

My patients are already questioning whether we need the NHS.accident-emergency-11

THE BIG PROBLEM WITH OUR WELFARE SYSTEM

First Christmas Wituout Dad.

Can anybody tell me why a GP can’t tell the DWP keep their noses out;

“I’m a medical professional with years of training and experience and assessing his fitness for work is MY job. YOUR job is to see he/she doesn’t get more ill, go hungry or become destitute because lack of money or care escalates his/her health problems?”

JUST THINKING OUT LOUD…

ive-got-an-idea

These kinds of pictures are doing the rounds on FaceBook again. No links, no corroborative evidence, just a picture and a scandalous headline or comment.

I ask you, do any of you know this woman’s’ circumstances; do any of you know her at all; has this woman been raped eight times by an abusive partner; all in all, do any of you know the full story?

Until you do, do not be so quick to condemn.

Little mention, I note of the absent fathers. If blame is to be attributed, it is not with these ladies; maybe it is our uncaring society, the fathers who seem loathe to support their offspring.

We need more compassion, education and less condemnation.

Then, when YOU have done ALL you can, point and damn.

Reds Under the Bed?

leave a comment »

I have always been of the opinion that Tony Blair was planted into the Labour Party by the Tories.

One of the first things he did as PM was to meet Thatcher for advice.

When Thatcher was asked what was her greatest achievement, she replied ‘New Labour’.

Now we see these Blairites destroying the party, our party from within.

If they can’t run it, they’ll destroy it.

Never mind your ‘red under the bed’; rather fear the ‘blue in the loo’.

The Panama Papers

leave a comment »

Much is being said about the latest tax avoidance scandal- the Panama Papers.

But anybody with a little political and economic nous will already know the wealthy believe taxes are for the poor, not them.

You will already know they pay top tax lawyers to avoid as much as they can.

Who remembers the 1970s, when multi-millionaires were receiving tax demands for 90% of their earnings?

Well I say GOOD! Perhaps if we tax them at 90%, after their schemes to avoid as much as they can, we might actually get the 40% the Tories have set for the highest earners..

Sick note refused under government new scheme.

This, I suspect will lead to people with well paid jobs, unable to do their particular work due to illness being forced into lower paid jobs they are capable of doing.

Employers should realise they may start to lose their best, most experienced employees and face the cost of retraining a new employee.

The poor side of life

This is a true shocking account of a young persons visit to their GP recently. Sadly it’s true and I’m hoping that most GPs are refusing to implement this.

I’m going to call this person X. It’s quite appropriate because that as I see it is how this government sees most vulnerable people in this country. This government has a great disdain for the poor, sick and vulnerable indeed I have been quoted in the past as saying that this is a war against the poor and those in need. This is another tactic that they want to employ.

Many times now this Tory government has been quoted as saying that they they want to get rid of ‘the sick note culture’. They don’t want anyone off work. People are expected to quite literally work themselves to death. Getting a sick note is seen by the Tory party as ‘a…
