The bastards were perfectly happy to have benefit claimants when they could inflate rents because the taxpayer would make up the shortfall. It’s time for massive council house building, repossession of all ex-council housing and starve the leeches of tenants.
The invisible Housing Minister Kris Hopkins has said it is “perfectly legitimate” for landlords to refuse to rent to people on Housing Benefits despite serious doubts about the legality of this practice.
Hopkins was being interviewed by Panorama, who this week revealed that the number of people who have become homeless due to a private tenancy coming to an end has trebled over the last five years. The investigation featured buy-to-let scum Fergus Wilson who earlier in the year announced he planned to evict all of his 200 Housing Benefit tenants due to concerns about rent arrears related to welfare reforms. This is just fine according to skiving Housing Minister Hopkins who said: “If they actually decide they don’t want to have somebody on housing benefit in the future, that’s a perfectly legitimate thing for them to do.”
The problem is that it almost certainly isn’t under the Equalities…

In British criminal law, one is deemed innocent until proven guilty; in British criminal law one can only be found guilty if there is irrefutable evidence proving one’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
However, Parliament is not a court of law and the wider public tend to decide issues of guilt on a balance of probabilities.
So, did Cameron know or suspect Coulson had acted illegally with regard to ‘phone hacking as editor of News of the World?
I have no irrefutable evidence to that effect and cannot prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. However, I am not constrained by the niceties of the law and on a balance of probabilities, I believe yes he knew and may well have employed Coulson as his director of communications because he knew this and thought it might be an advantageous skill for a person in that position.
Apart from the lies, it doesn’t matter if 2,000,000 properties become available if there are 2,000,001 prospective tenants.
Once again the chinless fucking idiots at Labour’s favourite think tank the IPPR have spoken and once again gormless Ed Miliband has lapped up their vomit and turned it into Labour Party policy.
The contemptible idea that benefits for young people should be means-tested based on their parent’s wealth is a recipe for tearing fractured families apart. Young people whose parents decide they don’t want to pay their dole will face having to declare themselves ‘estranged’ from their parents, a process which could see them leaving the family home. Those who have faced parental abuse will be trapped with their abusers for even longer as the welfare state fails to provide a safety net. Of course posh wankers like Miliband don’t think this kind of thing can go on in…

(not satire – it’s George Osborne and Nick Clegg!)
It’s so easy to forget. It was so long ago.
But please remember that in his 2012 budget – at the height of the coalition government’s so-called austerity drive – George Osborne decided it was just the right time to give 300,000 of the UK’s richest households a cut in income tax.
However, being a fiscally responsible chancellor, Osborne balanced the money he was losing in tax collected from the wealthiest people in the country by cutting child benefits from the poorest. And by making 4.4 million taxpaying pensioners lose an average of £84 a year by freezing their personal allowances.
Oh, and also please make sure it doesn’t escape your mind that Nick Clegg and his Liberal Democrats supported Osborne and his budget all the way.
Please feel free to comment. And share. Thanks:
This is what happened when a friend of Vox Political, going by the monicker Sick Britain, contacted the BBC to ask why there has been no coverage of today’s (June 21) anti-austerity demonstration in London, which was attended by more than 50,000 people.
The BBC has mentioned the demonstration – as a pretext for a discussion of government austerity policies on Any Questions and Any Answers (both on Radio 4) but the national public service broadcaster’s news bulletins were mysteriously silent about it throughout the day of the event itself.
This seems particularly odd when one considers the fact that the demo began outside Broadcasting House, and that I’m told extra security guards were on duty today, while the entrances were protected with metal fencing.
Some of you may wish to complain to the BBC about its lack of coverage. Here’s how you can do it:

Only in the uk could a leftist group invite to speak as the star turn at an anti-austerity rally someone who is in the Top 1% of the rich in the country and who’s partner Jemima Khan Goldsmith is super-rich. Contrast with the way DPAC was treated by the Peoples Assembly organisers when they asked for a ramp to enable members to access the stage to speak:
‘just spoke to a mate on DPAC nat exec who tells me DPAC aren’t participating (but many of them will turn up, angry) tomorrow as the people’s assembly front would not pay for a ramp to get a disabled speaker on stage… cos it’s ‘their problem’ and DPAC should fundraise themselves for it. As my mate said “I’ve seen their fucking accounts’
